KEROBIN LAPAWON
APRN, PMHN
Kerobin Lapawon, MSN, APRN, BC, has 14 years of experience as a registered nurse, initially in the medical-surgical department (in Jordan) to the emergency unit (in Saudi Arabia), Home health Nursing (in Canada), and finally found her passion in mental health in the correctional setting (in the U.S.) in 2019. Kerobin earned her BSN from Saint Louis University in Baguio City, Philippines in 2008. She then completed her Master’s Degree at Walden University in Minnesota last May 2022. She became board-certified in July of the same year in Florida. She also gained valuable clinical experience while working as a psychiatric nurse at the Intensive Mental Health Unit at Maine State Prison.
A big factor in working with Kerobin is that she takes the time to know you and listen to your needs as she would her own family. Your health history, life experiences, circumstances, and concerns are respected and used to guide the treatment plan. Kerobin’s patient care philosophy of individualized treatment for mental health is focused on an optimistic, multi-cultural approach that is evidence-based to finding solutions for the total remission of symptoms. She also believes that recovery is possible. Kerobin treats patients with dignity, and respect in a safe, non-judgmental space where they can freely share their needs in struggles. She also incorporates health education about the client’s medical and psychiatric illnesses, allowing them to have a voice in developing the best treatment solution. Kerobin offers medication prescribing, and management through online Telepsychiatry services, and in-person. Depending on your needs, psychotherapy, and medication management can be used. She also incorporates vital statistics to better understand what will work best for you: Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ9), General Anxiety Disorder Scale (GAD-7), Mood Disorder Questionnaire (MDQ), Vanderbilt Questionnaire for parents and teachers, Adult ADHD Scale, PTSD Questionnaire, and much more.
When Kerobin isn’t caring for her patients, she enjoys traveling with her family. She also serves God by being an active member of the Couples for Christ.
Kerobin’s passion for becoming a nurse practitioner stems from her love of being part of someone’s healing process as she helps them find freedom in all aspects of their life, especially in mental, emotional, and spiritual health. She feels that her mission is to bring light to people who feel like they are hopeless. She is excited to offer new patients the highest level of care at the Affiliated Family Counselors.
