DARLA STEVENS

LMSW

My background in health care and social work has provided me with many years of compassionate caring and empathy toward individuals and families, from the young to the elderly with various issues and concerns.  I am a Registered Nurse, Licensed Master Social Worker, am a certificated grief counselor, and am now pursuing my clinical license in social work.  Even though I rely on my faith to guide me in providing a compassionate, grace-filled, empathetic approach in walking along clients in their journey toward meeting their various goals and needs, I also respect and value those of various beliefs and backgrounds.  Through my education and life experiences, I am able to work confidently with a variety of people and issues and look forward to developing a therapeutic relationship with those who reach out to me for assistance and guidance in their life journey.

I have worked with individual and families in many stressful life situations including chronic illness, mental health, end of life, depression, grief and loss, issues with aging and quality of life, and anxiety.  I strive to create a safe, comfortable space for individuals to heal, learn, and grow through therapy.

My areas of focus are-

  • Grief and loss
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Life transitions
  • End of life issues
  • Stress management
  • Chronic or critical illness
